The Children's Festival is presenting four evening shows at our new location on Granville Island this year. Start off the night with dinner at one of the many restaurants on the island, then enjoy one of these fantastic shows!
Farfalle (Butterflies)
Join one of Italy’s most innovative theatre companies on a magnificent journey through a butterfly's life cycle. “Told” by two graceful dancers, the luminous, brilliantly lit stage becomes a glowing garden that responds from every direction to their movements. Sun glints on your face and you hear the butterfly wings beat as audience members are invited to touch and experience this wondrous garden for themselves.
Thursday, June 2 & Friday, June 3 @ 7:00pm
46 Circus Acts in 45 Minutes
Wherever C!RCA has taken its heart-stopping show, audiences have flocked to see the impossible happen. Watch and be amazed as intrepid acrobats battle the clock, and marvel at the astounding ways they bend, fly, juggle and balance. Set to upbeat music and featuring jaw-droppingly multi-skilled performers, this is fast, furious fun!
Thursday, June 2 @ 7:00pm
Step Afrika!
With its kicks, stomps, claps and chants, the percussive dance known as stepping is linked to African and modern dance traditions. This high-energy, interactive performance explores the rhythm, physicality and history of stepping. You’ll be wanting to step up a storm in no time!
Friday, June 3 @ 7:00pm
Variety Show
This high-energy showcase offers more bang for your buck with five of our headliners all on one dynamic bill. Our host for the evening, Norman Foote, will keep things rolling and provide laughs a-plenty. Musical guests Mauvais Sort will fill the night with toe-tapping, exhilarating joie de vivre. Music and acrobatics fuse with the ethereal soundscape sculptures of Lelavision's Physical Music. Clap, dance and stomp along to the African rhythms of Step Afrika! Then catch your breath to the heart-pumping thrills and acrobatic feats of Australia’s Circa in 46 Circus Acts in 45 Minutes.
