PHYSICAL MUSIC

Combining stunning musical invention with astonishing physicality, performers Leah Mann and Ela Lamblin create sublime music through their large scale, hand-built sound sculptures. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen Lelavision perform on the Lunatone, an aerial apparatus where the performers hang upside down as they play slit-tube chimes, or the Longwave, a 25-foot-long, wave-shaped harp. A hit with children and adults alike, we’re thrilled to welcome this wildly original company back to the Festival.

INFINITUS: From Handel to Hip Hop

Think classical music isn't hip? Think again. With their buoyant, interactive performances and diverse repertoire, Vancouver-based string trio Infinitus wants listeners to put aside their dusty old perceptions of classical music. From jazz to hip-hop to movie themes to classical works, it’s amazing the musical concoctions these three award-winning musicians can cook up with just a violin, viola, cello and some vocalizations. Come out and hear their unique sound for yourself.

"I loved Infinitus! it was my son's favourite show."

NORMAN FOOTE

Catchy melodies, clever lyrics and outrageous props are all hallmarks of a performance by award-winning Vancouver entertainer Norman Foote, along with a delightfully offbeat sense of humour, of course! Norman’s been a Festival favourite for many years now, and it’s easy to see why – his hilarious, theatrical shows are enormously entertaining for both kids and adults alike.
